Good morning and welcome to one chapter a day Bible Reading

*Ephesians 4:1-32 NLT*In verse 15 of Ephesians chapter 4, the bible say’s:
Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more *like Christ*, who is *the head of his body, the church*.Ephesians 4:15 NLT
Christ is the *head* of *his body* and *his body* is the *church*.
1 Corinthians 12:27 says All of you together are *Christ’s body*, and each of you is a part of it.1 Corinthians 12:27 NLT

From the above scriptures, we can see two clear identification.
*1.* The head *—>* Christ*2.* The body *—>* The church (Believers)
For us to understand the significance and importance of *the head (Christ)* to *the body (the church)*. We will look at the human body first.
The human body has *five basic senses* that helps in it’s effective daily operations.
*Four* of this five basic senses are found on the *head* and only *one* is attributed to the *body*.This five senses are:
*1.* Sight — Eye — on the head
*2.* Hearing — Ear — on the head
*3.* Smell — Nose — on the head
*4.* Taste — Mouth — on the head
*5.* Touch — Hand — on the body
That’s a ratio of 4 to 1 (4:1) that  is 4 of the senses on the head and 1 on the body.
This means that the body needs the head at all times in order to function effectively well daily.

*Think about it.* Four of the five senses on the head means that the body definitely needs the head.
Also, *the sensing organs associated with each sense* send information to the *Brain* to help us understand and perceive the world around us.
But *where is the brain* that processes the information sent by the five senses?
*It’s also in the head.*
*Wow! This makes the head a very important part of the body.*
Just as the head is to human body, so Christ is to the church.
If we want to function well and be very effective on a daily basis, we must rely absolutely on our head which is Christ.
For us to *understand* spiritual matters and implement them in our lives by *faith* so as to experience victory, *we need our head (Christ)* because *he is the brain that is full of understanding.*

*Remember,* as Christians (the body of Christ) we walk by *faith* but faith comes by hearing ( Romans 10:17) and where is the hearing sense organ located? *On the head* and *Christ who is the head* is also called the *author and finisher of our faith*.
*Wow!* This means as believers (the body) we cannot do without our head (Christ).
That’s why we must follow the leading of our head *(Christ)* at all times *because as the head He has the eyes to see what the body can’t see.*
Psalm 32:8 one of my favourite scripture in prayer says *I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with MINE EYE.Psalms 32:8 KJV*
The Lord says, *”I will guide you along the best pathway for your life*. I will advise you and *watch over you*. Psalms 32:8 NLT

That’s why David ran to God when bands of raiders (the Amalekites) raided the town of Ziklag. They burnt the town and carried all the women and children. David cried out to God (his head). The God who can see what he can’t see. The God who hears what the enemy is saying and planning that he can’t hear. David asked the Lord in 1 Samuel 30:8 *”Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?” And the Lord told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!”*
By obeying the instruction of his head (God), David got overwhelming victory.

Also 2 Kings 6:31-33 say’s “May God strike me and even kill me if I don’t *separate Elisha’s head from his shoulders this very day,” the king vowed.* Elisha was sitting in his house with the elders of Israel when *the king sent a messenger to summon him* (for Elisha’s death – emphasis mine). *But before the messenger arrived, Elisha said to the elders, “A murderer has sent a man to cut off my head. When he arrives, shut the door and keep him out. We will soon hear his master’s steps following him.” While Elisha was still saying this, the messenger arrived*. And the king said, “All this misery is from the Lord ! Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”2 Kings 6:31‭-‬33 NLT
The head of Elisha (God) who has the seeing eyes has already revealed the king’s plan to him.
*May we always receive timely instructions from our head who is Christ the Lord.*

As believers, we sincerely need our head (Christ) to help us see what we can’t see and hear what we can’t hear so as *to lead us in the best pathway for our lives*.
We can’t exhaust the importance of Christ as the head of the church today. But may the Holy Spirit continue to expand this important truth to you personally in Jesus name.
In essence, what God is telling us today is that *we should trust Him in all things no matter what we feel.*

If you are reading this but haven’t accepted Christ as your Saviour, then He can’t be your head. For Him to be your head, you must accept His Lordship over your life. So why not surrender your life to Him today so that He can begin to lead you.

*Meditation Scripture*1 Corinthians 12:27
